BARNUM PARK

City and County of Denver

In 1878 showman P. T. Barnum purchased a tract of land on the western edge of Denver.  Keeping with the P. T. Barnum Circus theme the swimming pool’s makeover revamped the facility to create a more inviting colorful and fun-filled amenity for Denver families.

Two new splash pad areas were constructed with age appropriate play elements.   The toddlers splash pad included water jellies, aqua dome, water bugs and foaming geysers.

The 5-12-year-old splash pad interactive play featured choreographed dancing water streams, zebra, lion and elephant cannons along with tipping buckets and sprays.  Other improvements included the addition of a waterslide and a new pool deck to the existing lap pool and picnic areas with shade structures.
